I am not proud of these marshmellows. I could have done a lot better if I put more time into it. I sees this piece as unfinished, yet it was a tasty treat.
This piece was definitely one of my favorites. I think I captured the scene very well; a woman's hand failing to grasp a male hand that gradually fades away. I loved the color choices and shading. The only thing I'd change is emphasizing on the backwards moon.
I enjoyed being able to practice my painting with a reference such as a pair. I could have blended my colors better, but I'm glad that I learned that skill afterward. I took on the idea of contrasting colors in the background and am satisfied with my choices. I also took advantage of the white for some lighting, although I'm not the best with shading or lighting in general. One thing I did enjoy was applying the characteristics of a pear to the work, watching it gradually turn into one. Although the stems are small, I am happy with them because they turned out so well.
Fot the day of the dead mask, I decided to do something a bit different. I thought of the different types of masks and ended up doing one of my favorites; the gas mask. I was hoping to take a unique turn, adding a fluorescent green to the mix and tried to incorporate it in different ways, as shown with the fingerprints. I added the eye for a different style; more sci-fi content.
